คือ ประโยคที่มีข้อความแสดงเงื่อนไข (conditions) หรือการสมมุติ
ซึ่งประกอบด้วยประโยคเล็ก 2 ประโยครวมกัน
และเชื่อมด้วย conjunction
"if" ประโยคที่นำหน้าด้วย if แสดงเงื่อนไข เราเรียกว่า if-clause และประโยคที่แสดงผลเงื่อนไขนั้น
เราเรียกว่า main clause
มีรูปแบบดังนี้
